Short-sightedness up until approx. - 10 D
Long-sightedness up until approx. + 3 D
Astigmatism up until approx. + 4 D
The advantage of Femtolasik:
A laser is used instead of knife: much safer than regular LASIK ( as there are no complications from cut wounds at all ).
Its safety comes from a technological novelty not used in the traditional LASIK procedure, which is that the protective flap is not cut by human hand or a mechanical tool, but a computer-controlled special femtosecond laser equipment. The cutting of the protective flap is planned by a computer and performed with the amazing accuracy of the laser, with a precision of one thousandth of a millimetre.
The computer plans the ideal protective flap for every patient individually, and a special laser is used to create this ideal flap, which fits perfectly when folded back and is secured extremely fast and permanently.
A femtosecond laser can be used for preparing a corneal lobule in a unique manner. This method is much safer because the cut on the eye is prepared by a laser beam.
In the course of the operation, the laser is controlled by computer. This procedure can also be applied in case of a thinner cornea as well as with patients who could not be subjected to laser-based eye correction before. In the course of the operation, the eye epithelium is not damaged, therefore there is less pain and nerves are able to regenerate quicker.
The IntraLasik procedure is becoming more and more popular worldwide and the majority of patients opt for this method for eye correction surgery. This operation can generally correct short-sightedness in the range of -1.0 to -12.0 dioptres, astigmatism in the range of 1.0 to 6.0 dioptres, and hypermetropia in the range of +2.0 to +6,0 dioptres.
IntraLasik has been successfully applied at more than 1,000,000 patients worldwide.

In the course of the operation, the eye of the patient is anaesthetized by eye drops and the surroundings of the eye are disinfected. The eye is fixed by vacuum while the lobule is prepared on the cornea by the femtosecond laser. Then the lobule is bent up and the surgery is performed by slicing a microscopic tissue layer from the surface of the cornea. This way the refraction defects of the eye ( myopia, astigmatism, and hypermetropia ) are corrected.
The laser intervention itself takes 30 to 60 seconds during which the patient must look at a flashing red light. After this, the lobule is let down to its original place.
After a PRK surgery, you need to take eyedrops to avoid super infection.
You need to keep your eyes closed for the next 2-3 hours after the surgery and must use the eyedrops prescribed. A feeling of a foreign body and sensitivity to light are to occur. This unpleasant feeling will subside by the next day.
Your sight is expected to have stabilized by 2 to 3 months later but you will see pretty well just a week after the surgery so you can return to your usual lifestyle.
The treatment
Most people are eligible for a laser eye surgery. The first step is a consultation with an ophthalmologists to find out whether your eye condition is operable.
Day 1.: Before the treatment
The day before the operation there will be a consultation with an ophthalmologists and all your questions will be answered. You will have a thorough check-up and at the end of the examination you will receive a detailed report.
Day 2: The treatment
First of all, women should refrain from apply make-up before the operation. Make-up may not be worn for a whole week after the surgery.
Anesthetic eye drops are applied.
The correction surgery is absolutely painless. The operation takes about 5-10 minutes, and you may experience that your vision has improved right after the surgery.
The surgery is completely controlled by a computer, the ophthalmologist and the clinical engineer supervising the operation of the laser. Your eyes will be held wide open throughout the whole operation and you should be looking into the red flashing laser light. The procedure is painless and you will be administered eye drops right after the operation.

The laser vision correction is an outpatient operation and patients can leave the clinic as soon as the surgery is over.
You will be asked to rest when you get home and to follow your doctor’s orders.
Patients are asked to return for very short check-up appointments, taking only a few a minutes.
Day 3: After the treatment
The next day you will be required to appear for a complete check-up ( a PRK requires you for a daily check-up, up to 7 days; IntraLASIK needs you to stay for 2-3 days only ).
Your eyes must be controlled after the second week, the first month and after 3, 6 and 9 months also and these controlls can be done with your doctor in Budapest or either with your doctor in your home country. These check-ups are extremely important for your eyes !
SUMMARY:
Before operation you can eat and drink as usual. For the first 48 hours do not press your eyelids hard together and do not try to scratch your eyes at all !
Please bring a sunglass with you on your operation day so that your eyes can be protected from direct sunlight. After the operation you need to keeep your eyes closed for about 4 hours and then blink often for a few hours afterwards.

An additional surgery option: Cataract removal
Cataract ( in Latin ’Cataracta’ ) is the blurring of the lens of the eye and is a problem effected many older people and can eventually lead to significantly deteriorated vision.
Unfortunately, this disorder cannot be cured by laser or drugs, and in the past, it led to blindness. Today, only one cure is known, the blurred lens is surgically removed and replaced by a special plastic lens.
Other ophthalmological surgeries are also available: please ask for information.
